Maldon Ultras

Maldon Ultras. Three distances, one 10-mile loop. You have the choice of 100mile, 50mile and 30mile options. Unlike lots of events, we have no interest in achieving a high DNF statistic, we want all of you to finish and earn those cherished buckles & medals. Our undulating loop is suitable to both first timers and PB chasers. The lapped format allows you to access you kit bag every 10 miles which gives you lots of options to make right anything that’s not working for you. We have picked the weekend of the summer solstice, again to help make things easier for you, with sunset at 9.20pm and sunrise at 04.45 the night time running will be over before you know it.

The Lap
The Maldon Ultras are run on a 10.15mile lap. The route will be fully marked with arrows and comfort markers. The route is 95% off road and takes you along footpaths though fields woodland and disused a railway line. You will be running through vineyards enjoying views across Maldon to the blackwater estuary. While the loop is undulating, there are no thigh burning mountains to contend with here in Essex. After 5 miles you will arrive at the checkpoint offering basic refreshments and toiles before retuning to the start finish for our usual full-blown checkpoint offering sweet and savoury snacks & hot and cold drinks. After 6.00pm there will also be some hot food options.
